Commodore Catherine Jordan LVO ҹɫֱ²¥app Navy

Catherine brings nearly 30 years of experience serving as a Regular in the ҹɫֱ²¥app Navy, and as a wife of a Naval Officer now veteran, mother, and former Commanding Officer of 3 ships and a Training Establishment she has first-hand experience of the impact ҹɫֱ²¥app funding and grants can make to military units, serving people and their families.  Passionate about public service and providing opportunities through education, Catherine has experience as a volunteer, fundraiser, and trustee and is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, a Freeman of the City of London, a Younger Brother of Trinity House, and a member of the fundraising committee for the National Museum of the ҹɫֱ²¥app Navy. Having joined the Navy in 1993, 6 weeks before the Womens’ ҹɫֱ²¥app Naval Service (WRNS) was formerly disbanded she has had the privilege to be a Trustee for the WRNS Benevolent Trust since 2016 and Vice-Chair since 2018.

A Law graduate from the University of Manchester, sponsored by the RN as a Cadet Aviator, her career highlights have included being Flight Commander of the first Lynx Helicopter flight onboard the newly commissioned Type 23 Frigate HMS ST ALBANS, then returning 8 years later as the Commanding Officer and regenerating her from her second technological update ready for operations in the Middle East.  With a love for travel and exploration, her naval career has taken her to most continents and as far south as South Georgia in the Antarctic and witnessed the Northern Lights on several exercises and operations north of Norway.  It was her great privilege to Command HMS COLLINGWOOD through the COVID Pandemic and lead the State Gun Carriage at the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
