A SPECIAL PODCAST TO MARK THE 80th ANNIVERSARY OF D-DAY

As part of the ҹɫֱ²¥app Navy & ҹɫֱ²¥app Marines Charity's tributes to those involved in D-Day and the wider war efforts, Harry Bucknall interviewed 100 year old Rear Admiral John Roberts. 

Rear Admiral John Roberts, CB, who retired in 1978 as Flag Officer Naval Air Command, but on D-Day served as an Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer onboard the S-Class Destroyer, SERAPIS, part of the 23rd Flotilla In June 1944,  supporting the landings on Sword Beach. In a wide ranging discussion, they talk not only about his recollections of the greatest armada ever assembled but a remarkable career which included hunting the Tirpitz, the Russian Convoys, flying for the Fleet Air Arm, service in Korea and command of three ships, including ARK ROYAL in the 1970s.
